- Human Resources Development, Inc. (HRDI)
HRDI, Inc. is a contractor for SCMW! and receives funding for adults, youth, and dislocated workers for employment and training services. HRDI also provides daily classes for TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) participants to enable individuals to find employment and ultimately a career. In addition, HRDI maintains the delivery of business services to the tri-county.
JCC has a crucial role to play as students seek appropriate education and credentials. The college's efforts in this area are strengthened by a robust partnership between JCC and South Central Michigan Works!. They bring together public and private sector groups to help employers recruit, develop and retain skilled workers. Students and job seekers are assisted with skill building and connecting with quality jobs as well as resources for continued career advancement. The focus is to ensure this region creates and sustains prosperity based on strong employers with an adequate supply of skilled workers. JCC is a committed partner to many workforce development groups including the Smart Growth Collaborative and the Partnership for Regional Solutions Center. JCC and SCMW! work in concert to ensure activities are both strategic and collaborative in implementation.
Job Corps is a no-cost education and vocational training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 get a better job, make more money, and take control of their lives.
The Lenawee Economic Development Corporation includes an active partnership of more than 760 businesses, organizations and individuals committed to strengthening the regional economy and improving Lenawee County as a place to live, work and raise a family.
The Michigan Commission for the Blind (MCB) serves approximately 4,500 blind persons each year through its programs. Vocational rehabilitation services, independent living services, deaf blind services, youth services, the business enterprise program, and the MCB training center.
