Business Fellowship

These guidelines are written to help organizations focus on the goals, activities and procedures of the Regional Business Fellowship Program. These guidelines are not meant to limit, but rather to encourage corporate participants to design meaningful work place tasks that utilize educator's abilities while simultaneously meeting a specific workplace need. It is recommended that each business sponsoring a fellow for the program identify one contact person to act as liaison between the business and the Regional Business Fellowship Director.

Introduction

Education has traditionally had few formal ties with local business. Educators who are doing an outstanding job with academics often do not have the time or the contacts to develop close ties with business and industry that can be realistically used to introduce their students to the world of work. Through the Regional Business Fellowship Program, area educators will have the opportunity to observe and experience what employee skills are necessary and demanded by business and industry today.
