Along with the Michigan Talent Bank, the statewide Internet-based labor exchange system, we offer a wide variety of programs and services to help jobseekers of all skill levels and backgrounds find a job.

SCMW! offers services and support for those who are either facing a layoff, or have experienced one. Regardless of a jobseeker's situation, education level, experience, and skill level, the Service Center staff assist in overcoming barriers to employment.
If you've been laid off
No-cost, specialized activities and career counseling are available, as well as training and workshops that can help a jobseeker develop the materials and skills necessary to reenter the workforce.

Employment Referrals
We work with local employers to find employment opportunities for eveyr type of jobseeker. Our Business Services Manager recruit employers for Career Fairs, Employer of the Day and hiring and training opportunities. Information and applications are available in all three service centers.

Career Management
We work with jobseekers to improve their job search, resume writing and interviewing skills in order to help them find employment. We supply referrals for assessments, GED or High School Diploma preparation, community resources such as budgeting, family counseling, or childcare and other supportive services that may be necessary.

Training
We offer training opportunities to jobseekers that need to upgrade their skills through vocational education in order to find employment. Training can be On-the-Job (OJT) with a local employer leading to a certificate, or in a classroom setting with an Individual Training Account leading to a degree, license or certification.

Follow Up
We provide eighteen months of follow up services to ensure the customer can maintain employment, is receiving wages and benefits as planned and is self sufficient.
Veteran Services
Our commitment to veterans and their families is to provide resources that will help veterans and their eligible spouses find employment or entrepreneurial opportunities. The Veterans Services Division staff will help identify possible educational/training programs under the various GI Bills to aid veterans and their eligible spouses in becoming job-ready.

Disability Services
If you have a disability that is preventing you from finding employment, South Central Michigan Works! wants to help. By partnering with Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) we can provide a wide variety of opportunities to the disabled population.
